Blog Domain

I love Orble. After you have written enough blogs and shown consistency, or something like that, they offer you unused domains that are listed with them. It has been my luck to be offered two this week, one for this blog, Anything About Food, and one for Rantings of the Unsane.
The new domain for Anything About Food is FoodMage. Not what I would have come up with given a choice but not to bad, and it fits with my image of the the magical world of food. Magical when done right, not so much when the food isn't good or a recipe doesn't come together.
Recently I haven't had many opportunities to eat out at any place that deserves mention, nor have I had any recipes that are beyond belief. But I have rediscovered a few snack foods that are: 1. Good for you, and 2. Taste good.
The first is Almonds, bought raw, you toast them by putting them in the microwave for three minutes, this is if they are bunched not spread out. I put mine in a fairly deep soup bowl and fill it, then the 3 minutes. When you hear the occasional pop then they are ready. Let them cool and they will be crispy and really good. Unsalted of course.
The second is a snack that I can only get sometimes and only at one store in the area. Edamame. Edamame is the name for young soy beans, they are packaged in individual servings, and come with a packet of sea salt to sprinkle over then when done. Microwave for about 3 minutes until hot and steamy, peal off the plastic top and sprinkle with salt. Serve hot, they are quite yummy. I sprinkled some wasabi powder over some while still steamy and they were wonderfully spicy without being so hot I couldn't stand it.
One last thing before I go today. About the domain thing, some of the posts here won't be mine, they are from the previous owner of the blog, it seems that Orble doesn't remove them when transferring the domain to a new owner, so if it isn't signed by my signature then it isn't me. But I'll bet you can tell what I've written and what the last person wrote. Oh, and I didn't design the background for this either and will change it as soon as possible.

Tommie - My first domain only took about 1 hour to process, I still don't have approval for the second one, so I'm still waiting for Food Mage domain. Good luck with yours too. And thanks.

Political Certainty
I do most of my non-political writing on AssociatedContent

Thank you so much for you lovely comments.
Yes, I love all the goodies too, but I do try to limit my intake, the reasons are multiple, one being that I once topped the scales at 427 pounds, I no longer do and I intend to remain much, very much, thinner. But the occasional hot dog, crispy outside, tender inside, or the broiled hamburger, medium rare for me, are heaven. And don't talk to me about Italian food, I'm part Sicilian and you can imagine the food I grew up with, it was so wonderful. I still can make the family lasagna (I think the recipe is in a blog here somewhere). Anyway, I look forward to reading your blogs, and being your friend.
